We are looking for an experienced Customs Entry Writer who enjoys solving problems, working with clients, and ensuring imports move efficiently through U.S. Customs. Responsibilities
Entry Preparation: Prepare and file customs entries including CBP Forms 7501, 3461, and 7355.
Coordination: Coordinate and monitor customs exams and release processes.
Communication: Communicate with CBP, PGA agencies, and clients to ensure timely clearance.
Compliance: Validate HTSUS codes and trade remedies with the importing client.
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
System Utilization: Utilize systems such as NetCHB or similar platforms for entry processing.
Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to resolve entry discrepancies and ensure client satisfaction.
Workflow Management: Create and maintain detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) tailored to specific clients, ports of entry, and importing carriers to ensure consistent and compliant processing.
Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage or import operations.
Forms & Procedures: Familiarity with CBP Forms 7501, 3461, and 7355, and a solid understanding of customs clearance and HTSUS validation.
Software & Systems: Proficiency in NetCHB (or similar entry platforms) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive).
Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, sharp organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Remote Readiness: Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional, secure home workspace. Successful candidates must be comfortable working independently.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.).
Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish or English/Chinese) are a strong plus.
Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Excellent written communication.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Willingness to learn new technologies and process improvements.
